Manufacturing Process Engineer - Seal Beach, CA

Under limited supervision, the Manufacturing Process Engineer performs semi-routine and moderately complex activities for the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods. Determines and develops the method, operations sequence, and tooling for the fabrication of parts, finishing and assembly, components, subassemblies, or final products. Develops assembly guides, procedures, and illustrations. Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and processing requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops methods, operations sequences and tooling required for the manufacture of new products.
  • Identifies functions, specifications and designs required tooling for Manufacturing.
  • Writes work procedures, instructions, and drawings for assembly processes.
  • Analyzes and documents manufacturing (assembly) processes.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs and determines standards. Participates in cost studies and equipment recommendations.
  • May assist in determining the causes of rejected parts.
  • Build assembly models and drawings using SolidWorks CAD systems.
  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, mold design, and working with overseas contract manufacturer
  • Develop BOM structure for ODM products.

Job Requirements

  • BS degree in any of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Certificate (SME) or equivalent experience required.
  • Two to four years of related experience.
  • Understanding and usage of SolidWorks CAD systems.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills.
