The MagTek Smart Card Contact Block is perfect for insert readers that need to provide long contact life and, just as importantly, reduced card wear. The unique ramp design minimizes card wear because the contacts do not rub on the surface of the card but land on the contacts after the card moves into position. Not only does this reduce card wear but the rugged housing also extends the life of the contacts to one million cycles. An integrated card-seated switch ensures accurate notification when a card is present. These contact blocks are used in many MagTek products, which have passed EMV 4.0 Level 1 certification.
